Love is the center of our relationship and the life we’ve built together. We believe that we’re at our best when we’re spreading more love into the world.

God’s Love

Jun’s Christian faith is an important part of who he is. God’s love is what compels him to be loving to others. When he came out as a gay Christian man, his faith was tested. Many friends, family, and colleagues challenged him, insisting that gay people can’t be Christians. But Jun’s faith runs deep, and he boldly believes in a God who loves unconditionally. Soon after coming out, Jun founded Beloved Arise, the first national organization devoted to celebrating and empowering LGBTQ+ youth of faith. Our message is simple - all young people, including LGBTQ+ youth - deserve to be loved. We’re both honored to serve as volunteers for Beloved Arise.

Spreading Love

We are fearless optimists. Even though there is so much violence, injustice, and hate in the world, we choose to hold on to hope and the radical belief that everyone deserves to be loved. As a couple, we do our part to spread positivity and help bring folks together when there is so much tearing us apart. Drew shares this positivity with his students as he teaches elementary school and Sunday school at church. Jun takes opportunities to be a positive force in professional endeavors and volunteer work, through social media and his podcast (A Change Mindset), and as a guest speaker/preacher at churches.

Giving is Loving

Neither of us came from wealthy families. Our parents scraped by, often living paycheck to paycheck. But in both our homes, we were taught that no matter how much or how little you have, it’s important to give generously to those in need. We hope to hand down this important value to our children — just as it was handed down to us. Whether it’s helping out our neighbors, volunteering at local charities, or being generous donors to our favorite causes, we make giving a priority in our lives.
